Ngene 1.1.2 has been released

Postby Andrew Collins » Thu Jul 10, 2014 2:18 pm

We have just posted the latest point release to the website (you may need to refresh the download page). You can download and run the installer, and your existing license activation should be preserved.

Note that Chrome may display a warning "Ngene112Setup.zip is not commonly downloaded and could be dangerous." It is not, and we hope to convince Google that we are not evil shortly. In the meantime you can select Keep from the drop down menu.

Version 1.1.2 includes the following changes:
  • When opening or evaluating existing designs, the blocking column is now preserved. A new blocking column can still be generated with ;eval=<design>,newblocking.
  • Fixed a bug that would limit the time spent generating the blocking column to 58 seconds.
  • Scenarios now compatible dummy and effects coding.
  • Syntax window scroll bars once again correctly positioned for Windows 7+.
  • More responsive feedback provided if there are difficulties in generating the initial random design with the default swapping algorithm (due to constraints, alternative repetitions etc). A notice is now provided after 10 seconds, along with a summary of why the design generation is failing.
  • Check to ensure that the modified Federov candidate set size is larger than the number of rows specified. This may not be the case if a large number of constraints are specified.
  • Check on RSC algorithm to prevent memory errors if the design dimensions are unfeasibly large for the algorithm.
  • Removed the context menu from formatted scenarios, which exposed various unsupported features. The tables can still be selected with control-A and copied with control-C, although this does not preserve the CSS formatting. The best export options remain either the “Export to HTML files” button, or copying from the “HTML source code” tab.
